Clip Bio Plus d.o.o.

01

2015

Clip Bio Plus d.o.o. was founded on 10 September 2015 by the Czech company OneClip s.r.o.

Although strengthening the biogas sector in the Republic of Croatia is a lengthy process requiring a great deal of dedicated work, well-planned activities and commitment, we established a company whose motivation was to achieve goals in the field of developing and promoting the production and use of biogas as a renewable energy source.

In this regard, biogas power plants indisputably have the greatest positive environmental impact.

2018

On 17 May 2018, the Clip Bio Plus Biogas Power Plant commenced permanent operation, built in accordance with the latest technological achievements.

  • Plant type: Biogas power plant
  • Plant name: Clip Bio Plus Biogas Facility
  • Installed capacity: 300 kW
  • Primary fuel: Biogas
  • Substrate: Corn silage, rye, barley, farmyard manure, bio-waste

The biogas facility is located on approximately 5,900 m² of land and consists of individual units in which the phases of the technological process take place. The biogas facility is designed for the production of electrical and thermal energy (cogeneration plant).

The biogas power plant is located in Črnec Biškupečki, within the rural area of a suburban settlement of the city of Varaždin. The settlement of Črnec Biškupečki is surrounded by cereal fields that are predominantly fed with artificial fertiliser, while on the other hand, the City of Varaždin collects increasing quantities of plant-based bio-waste from households, parks, markets and other sources year after year, which is poorly recycled — especially in terms of conversion into useful and necessary compost that can effectively replace and reduce the use of artificial fertiliser.

Furthermore, the power plant is located in the immediate vicinity of a pig farm, which allows us to complete several important aspects: production processes on the farm, work on improving production processes on the farm, and environmental protection.

The electrical energy is partly used to meet the needs of the facility's electric motor drives and partly supplied to the power grid. The thermal energy produced in the process is used for heating the digesters and for heating other buildings on the existing pig farm. Corn silage and manure from the existing pig farm are used as the raw material basis for biogas production.

For these reasons, waste management is also a focus of our company's business operations.

New Horizons Opened / The Beginning of Our Strategic Plans

Through the implementation of the Waste Management Plan, the waste management system in Croatia is being organised as an integral whole involving all participants in the system at the national, regional and local levels.

The circular economy model, which is the aspiration, aims to increase the share of separate waste collection, recycling and reuse of waste, with the goal of minimising waste generation — not only waste arising from production processes, but systematically, throughout the entire life cycle of a product and its components.

As a result of the informational activities being carried out, it is expected that in the coming periods waste will be sorted even more, leading to the collection of greater quantities of bio-waste for which there are no processing capacities.

Composting is a natural process of recycling organic, i.e. "bio-waste", which produces the most environmentally acceptable organic fertiliser — compost. Through composting, we solve the problem of organic waste from the kitchen and garden, while at the same time obtaining high-quality organic fertiliser that will enrich the soil in our gardens. Soil enriched in this way will powerfully strengthen plants, making them more resistant to pests and diseases. Food grown without the use of chemical agents has better quality and no harmful effects on human health.

Composting is therefore a closed circle of cooperation between humans and the environment, in which everyone benefits.

Composting Facility Construction Project

Guided by the example of good practice in sustainable waste management, we are in the process of realising a project to build a composting facility at the address Črnec Biškupečki No. 301 A, Varaždin.

The foundation of the project is a Grant Agreement for projects financed from EU funds.

Grant Agreement reference number: KK.06.3.1.15.0020
